Guy started his professional career in the irrigation industry, working for a dealer in Roma, Queensland. For the next 10 years, he moved into different roles with irrigation manufacturers covering landscape and agricultural sectors in Queensland, Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Guy’s first encounter with machinery occurred while he was Director of Sales and Marketing for John Deere Water in Australia and New Zealand, his last role in irrigation. He subsequently moved into a Dealer Development Manager role, where he was introduced to the John Deere machinery dealer network. In that position, Guy gained valuable insights into the critical components that drive a successful dealership.
His interest in enabling dealerships to excel led him to take on the Vanderfield Chief Operations Officer role in 2017, where he managed the branches and support functions of the agricultural business across 11 locations. Following the merge of Vanderfield, Vermeer and RDO Equipment into the RDO Australia Group in late 2019, Guy transitioned into the role of GM Growth and Innovation. In this position, he oversees strategic planning and direction, business improvements, precision ag, marketing and communications for the group
